There’s no hard threshold, but here are practical guidelines: You need at least 2 years of clean sales history per SKU for seasonal patterns to emerge. Missing data should be under 5% and randomly distributed, not systematic gaps. Product master data must be accurate - ML models can’t fix incorrect product hierarchies or wrong unit conversions. Customer segmentation should be consistent - if you reclassify customers frequently, the model struggles to learn patterns. Lead time data must be reliable - forecasting accuracy is worthless if your reorder calculations use wrong supplier lead times. Start with a pilot on your A-class items (highest volume/value) where data quality is typically better. Prove value there before expanding.
