Resource management API update fails with 'resource locked' error during scheduler operations

When our custom scheduler tries to update resource status via the resource-mgmt API, we frequently get ‘resource locked by another transaction’ errors. This happens even when we’re certain no other process is accessing the resource.

The error occurs during shift transitions when we’re trying to allocate resources to new work orders. About 15-20% of resource update calls fail with this locking error.

The ‘resource locked’ error doesn’t mean permanent locks - it indicates concurrent modification conflicts. These typically resolve within 1-2 seconds as the competing transaction commits or rolls back.

API Retry Logic Implementation: Implement exponential backoff with jitter to handle transient lock conflicts:
